Mobicosm is winding down
1/1/2010:
It is time that I bring Mobicosm to an end. It has been an incredible experience, and the knowledge
and skills I have learned from it will continue to pay off throughout my career.
I'm not going to quit having ideas, nor stop pursuing them. It just became time to face the reality that
while Mobicosm was great for advancing my skills as a web developer and product strategist, the mobile market just
moves too fast for one man to chase.
It was a remarkable 4 year run, where I took miniSPHERE to over 2500 registered mobile users and 25,000 page views/month
during its pre-iPhone run. MobiAtom had a few hundred loyal RSS-loving readers before Google Reader gained traction. I took a
lot of pride in delivering quality, stable, small-footprint, high performance websites for both the desktop and mobile
browsers. I tinkered with new technologies, learned some great new skills, and launched over 10 new websites (some were
eventually combined into miniSPHERE to expand it to local news, local business reviews, and downloadable WinMo apps).
Many thanks to those who used Mobicosm services over the last 4 years. It was a fun time!
Cody Riddar, (former) Founder of Mobicosm.

All sites were built on the ASP.NET platform, utilizing skills/technologies such as VB.NET, C#, .NET 2.0 to 3.5,
MVC, LINQ, SQL Server, jQuery, and Web Services. I also produced all graphics, logos, and layouts.

Mobicosm has wrapped up. Please see the announcement to the left for more details. This website and
all other websites released over the last 4 years now only exist purely as a portfolio - which hopefully
leads to exciting new challenges.
